Derrick is a bartender and barista with more than 12 years’ experience working in restaurants, bars and private parties. Whilst working mostly with establishments he has also worked over 100 events all over London and the UK. Hailing from Kenya and flourishing in Somerset, Derrick has picked up both cultural hospitable skills and puts them to work well in this ever so varied industry. Derrick is always driven to providing guests with a memorable and lasting experience. He has a very approachable disposition and strong interpersonal skills. Customers and clients have always given him positive reviews as he consistently delivers the highest quality of service, whilst formally and informally executing excellent customer service skills. Working with ‘Lavazza’ for two years and many independent coffee shops, he has had the opportunity of showcasing his latte art and flare. He has accumulated 7+ years working with coffee which is clear by the speed and consistency at which he is able to prepare coffee. Classically trained cocktail bartender. With all the most common cocktails and their variants memorised., he is also able to create bespoke cocktails and has written many cocktail menus as Derrick understands flavour pairing. Working hand to hand with Table Talk, Blue Strawberry Events, Buckingham Palace and Diageo, he is very comfortable performing in any diverse surroundings. Several years management experience. Running his own successful events business, before moving to London in 2018, he managed a team of up to 20+ people at any given time. One of the most notable venues is Hatch House in Somerset where his teams supplied all the drinks for the 3 day event performed by ‘The Royal Theatre of Ballet’. His experience has mostly been in and around Somerset. Working at some of the best places the Southwest of England has to offer. Some being: A Grade II Listed 18th-century congregational Chapel converted into a restaurant known as ‘At The Chapel’, 'Roth Bar & Grill’ based at Hauser & Wirth, ‘The Holcombe inn’ a two-rosette hotel, plus many more fantastic places.
