A Chinese Banquet is a truly unique experience, rich in culture and tradition and centred around indulgence and abundance. The food often takes the stage at these events, and are an opportunity for hosts both to impress and to express thanks to their guests through extravagant menus offering the finest delicacies of Chinese cuisine.Menus typically feature a minimum of 8 courses (with the most extravagant events reaching up to 20+!). Each 'course' (one dish) holds a special meaning or blessing and is served to the whole table in the order and timing as decided by the host.Chef Shenny would like to invite you to host and design your own Chinese banquet experience at HOME. Born in the UK with Hong Kong roots, Chef Shenny is a self-taught and passionate chef specialising in Asian cooking and baking. Always happiest in the kitchen, private chef Chef Shenny started cooking as a hobby from a very young age - Chef Shenny’s first signature dish was an apple pizza from her first cookbook aged 7. After a career in finance both in London and Hong Kong, the Covid-19 pandemic opened the door for Chef Shenny to turn her passion into a profession when she started a HOME-based Oriental takeaway and catering business. Serving authentic Chinese food to local customers, catering for private events in London and teaching Chinese cooking classes at an award-winning cookery school, Chef Shenny’s personal mission is to share the the authentic flavours, ingredients, techniques and health benefits of traditional Chinese cuisine with others, whilst being able to help create joy, connection and new experiences through good food and company. 大家食飯!
