A Chinese Banquet is a truly unique experience, rich in culture and tradition and centred around indulgence and abundance. The food often takes the stage at these events, and are an opportunity for hosts both to impress and to express thanks to their guests through extravagant menus offering the finest delicacies of Chinese cuisine.

Menus typically feature a minimum of 8 courses (with the most extravagant events reaching up to 20+!). Each 'course' (one dish) holds a special meaning or blessing and served to the whole table in the order and timing as decided by the host.
Chef Shenny would like to invite you to host and design your own Chinese banquet experience in the comfort of your own home. Whether it is for a special occasion or simply a celebration of friends and family, it is the perfect way to enjoy the best of Chinese food and learn about banqueting etiquette, food symbolism, traditions and culture.

About the HOMEtainer

I am a self-taught and passionate chef specialising in Asian cookery and bakery, born in UK with Hong Kong roots. Always my happiest self when in a kitchen, I started cooking as a hobby from a very young age - my first signature dish being an apple pizza from my first cookbook aged 7! After 8+ years working in finance in London and Hong Kong, the pandemic opened a door to turn my passion into a profession when I started a home-based Oriental takeaway and catering business. I now continue to serve authentic Chinese food to local customers, do private catering across London, and teach Chinese cooking classes at an award-winning cookery school. My personal mission is to share the authentic flavours, ingredients, techniques and health benefits of traditional Chinese cuisine with others, whilst being able to help create joy, connection and new experiences through good food and company. 大家食飯!
