Have trouble keeping New Year's Resolutions? Here are 5 common resolutions you can achieve
Hands up if, when it comes to New Year’s resolutions you find come February they’re already starting to slip. Sure you might say you’re going to work out every morning before 6am and only watch one episode on Netflix a night. Oh, and be fluent in three new languages by September, but chances are you’re setting the bar a little high. That’s not to say you shouldn’t set resolutions at New Year (or any other time) but maybe make them more achievable and that way you’ll succeed! Make 2023 the year you achieve one of these common New Year's resolutions with our easy tips! Here are five of the most common New Year’s resolutions and how to achieve them.
If your resolution is to:
Be More Sustainable
Whilst there’s no doubt that we could all reduce our carbon footprint and the amount of plastic we use, trying to change everything in one go is a little less achievable. Rather, start by making simple swaps like ditching shampoo in bottles and switching to the likes of KinKind’s collection of nourishing shampoo bars. Not only are they made in the UK and are 100% plastic free but they are delivered directly to your door. If you have little ones, then give Whirli a whirl. The toy subscription company lets you rent classic favourites and the latest toys at an affordable price. As soon as your child is no longer interested, rather than get rid of them you simply swap them for the next toy. Genius!

Practice Self Care
Self care doesn’t have to mean going on a yoga retreat nor does it mean trying to do all the self-care tips all the time. It doesn't need to be another to-do list and we don’t need any more of those. Just add in small, sustainable nourishing steps each day for a happier and healthier you. It could be getting up five minutes earlier to meditate or having a dance party in your kitchen. You could spend a few minutes journaling, get outside for 15 minutes every day or spend more time with your friends. This way it can become one of the common New Year's resolutions you can achieve!
And when it comes to spending time with your friends, it’s also knowing that you don’t have to go to everything and always be out. You could always see your friends at home with a night in and one of our unique experiences.

Learning a new skill is a great way to exercise your mind, boost your motivation and confidence and it’s fun. Exercise More
Ah the age-old resolution, exercise more - this surely has to be one of the most common New Year's resolutions. It sounds simple really and yet it’s one that we tend to give up the most. The gyms are all packed in January and then by March, well we all know. Just with the other resolutions the best approach is to build up to it slowly. Exercise just enough so that at the end of your session you feel as if you could do a little bit more. You’re more likely to stick to it if it’s enjoyable and you don’t come away feeling drained every time. And mix it up, you might have your regular training programme but build in exercise with your social life. Grab a coffee and go for a long walk with a friend, take part in a fun dance class or join a local team.
Manage Your Money
From the 50/30/20 rule to zero-based budgeting and reverse budgeting, there are a number of ways to manage your money depending on your financial goals. If you want 2023 to be the year you get your finances on track check out MoneyHelper for lots of advice.
