Ingredients

For the crust:

• 200g all-purpose flour

• 100g unsalted butter (cold, cubed)

• 2 tbsp granulated sugar

• 2–3 tbsp cold water

For the filling:

• 4 medium apples (peeled, cored, and thinly sliced)

• 2 tbsp granulated sugar

• 1 tsp ground cinnamon

• 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg

• 1 tbsp lemon juice

For the glaze:

• 2 tbsp apricot jam

• 1 tbsp water

For garnish:

• Powdered sugar

• Cinnamon

Instructions

Step 1: Make the crust

1. In a food processor or bowl, combine flour, butter, and sugar. Pulse or mix until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.

2. Add cold water, one tablespoon at a time, and mix until the dough comes together. Wrap in cling film and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2: Prepare the filling

1. Toss the apple slices in a bowl with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until evenly coated.

Step 3: Assemble the tart

1. Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F).

2. Roll out the chilled dough on a floured surface and transfer it to a tart pan. Trim the edges.

3. Arrange the apple slices in a spiral pattern, overlapping slightly. Pour any remaining juices from the bowl over the apples.

Step 4: Bake the tart

1. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender.

Step 5: Add the glaze

1. In a small saucepan, heat the apricot jam and water until smooth. Brush the glaze over the warm tart.

Step 6: Serve

1. Allow the tart to cool slightly. Dust with powdered sugar and cinnamon before serving.
